Bacon Grabbers Tent of Chicago

The Chicago Bacon Grabbers tent was founded in 1969 by Charles 'Chuck' Huck Jr. The 10th oasis of the Sons of the Desert, it was named after the 1929 silent film starring Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy.

The Bacon Grabbers hold quarterly film meetings each year, usually at the Addison Village Hall. The tent launched a Facebook page in 2011 that features rare, historic videos, photos, and news of interest to Sons. The Bacon Grabbers also publish "The Frying Pan," a newsletter that is distributed prior to meetings.

The annual Bacon Grabbers tent membership fee is $15 per family/address, which includes a subscription to "The Laurel & Hardy Intra-Tent Journal." Guests always are welcome at meetings.
